RAWALPINDI: Pakistan has a shaky start on 4th day of the second Test against Bangladesh as they have made 172 runs for the loss of all wicket in Rawalpindi today. Resuming on 9 for 2 in the morning, it was shaping up to be a good day for Pakistan with both Saim Ayub and Shan Masood looking very positive. Bangladesh need 185 runs to win the match against Pakistan. Thanks to Rizwan and Salman, Pakistan was rebuilding their innings fairly successfully. Salman led Pakistan’s lower order and made an unbeaten 47 runs after Rizwan left. In a Test match in Pakistan, Hasan Mahmud took a fifer, the first for a fast bowler from Bangladesh. Nahid Rana also picked up around four wickets. With clouds beginning to build up near the city, all eyes will be on the match’s fourth inning as well as the weather.
At stumps on Day 3, the Pakistan team was at 9/2, holding a narrow 21-run lead over Bangladesh. Pakistan’s position is far from secure as they lost two wickets in their brief final session of the day. Abdullah Shafique, struggling for form, was the first to go, dismissed cheaply, while nightwatchman Khurram Shahzad followed soon after, falling to Hasan Mahmud.
The day began with Bangladesh resuming at 10 without loss. Despite losing six wickets in a flurry during the morning session, the 165-run partnership between Litton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz for the seventh wicket was a beacon of resilience. Their partnership not only helped Bangladesh avoid the follow-on but also brought the visitors back into the game.
