Pakistan: 3 Killed, Multiple Wounded in Road Accident

LAHORE: Three passengers were killed and 17 others wounded when a passenger bus plunged into the river Nowshera Jadeed in Bahawalpur on Tuesday, local media reporting.
The rescue officials said that an overspeeding passenger bus overturned and plunged into the river leaving at least three people killed and 17 others wounded, a local TV reported. The rescue officials shifted the injured people into the Bahawal Victoria Hospital.

Earlier, on Sunday six people were killed and eight others injured in collision between passenger coach, construction machinery, and a vehicle on Hazara motorway, rescue officials said.

As per reports, construction machinery engaged in maintenance work at Shah Maqsood Interchange of Hazara motorway hit a Lahore bound van coming from Mansehra. At same time, another Lahore bound coach rammed into the two cars. Six people were killed and 8 injured due to mishap. The injured people were shifted to the nearby hospitals for medical treatment.
The rescue officials conducted a one-hour operation, successfully extricating people trapped in the vehicles after the collision.

Medical teams on the scene provided help to the wounded before shifting them to the Trauma Center Haripur, local media reported. Three critical injured victims were subsequently shifted to Abbottabad for further medical treatment.
