KARACHI: New Zealand batter Kane Williamson brought up his fifth double-century in Test cricket as the visitors declared innings at 612/9 against Pakistan on day four of the Karachi Test at National Bank Cricket Arena.
The Blackcaps, who resumed their first innings at an overnight score of 440-6, now seem to have the upper hand in the first Test of the two-match series, with a 174-run lead over the home team’s first innings score of 438 runs.
Williamson leads visitors to safe spot
Williamson who resumed today with an overnight score of 105, led his team against Pakistan’s bowling attack to remain not out and make 200 off 395 balls.
Meanwhile, Abrar Ahmed, who clinched five wickets, was the pick of the bowlers for the home team. New Zealand is playing its first Test series in Pakistan in 20 years.
