Pak vs NZ: Kiwis Team Reaches Pakistan for T20, ODI, Series

LAHORE: The New Zealand team, led by Tom Latham, arrived in Pakistan on Tuesday for the ODI and T20 series against the hosts.

 

During the tour, the Kiwis will play five 50-over matches and the same number of T20Is. The Blackcaps squad arrived in Lahore today and was escorted to the hotel under tight security. The players will take two days off before returning to practice on April 13.

 

The five-match Twenty20 series against New Zealand will be played in Lahore (April 14, 15, 17) and Rawalpindi (April 20, 24). The one-day internationals will be held in Rawalpindi (April 27, 29) and Karachi (May 3, 5, 7).

 

‘Challenging tour’

 

After arriving in Pakistan, New Zealand all-rounder Daryl Mitchell expressed his excitement for the T20 and ODI series. He stated that the team has young players who have never played in these conditions before.

 

The player described the Pakistan tour as “challenging,” adding that Pakistan has a world-class team. He stated that the conditions are very different here from New Zealand and that young players will gain experience. He said that the series is long and that they will try to play good cricket.

 

Pak vs NZ ODI and T20

 

In T20, Babar Azam will play as captain, and Shadab Khan as vice-captain. Fakhar Zaman, Faheem Ashraf, Haris Rauf, Iftikhar Ahmed, Imad Wasim, Ihsanullah, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Haris, Mohammad Rizwan, Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Saim Ayub, Zaman Khan and Shan Masood will play T20.

 

Babar Azam will play as captain and Shadab Khan as vice-captain in ODI too. Abdullah Shafique, Imam-ul-Haq, Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Nawaz, Haris Sohail, Haris Rauf, Ihsanullah, Naseem Shah, Mohammad Rizwan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Wasim, Salman Ali Agha, Shan Masood and Usama Mir will play ODI.
