KARACHI: New Zealand stood at 433-9 before lunch on day two of the second Test of two-match series against Pakistan at the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi.
The visitors, who yesterday won the toss and chose to bat first, resumed their first innings today with an overnight score of 309-6.
Matt Henry and Ajaz Patel defied the bowling attack of the home team, playing aggressively for the last wicket and scoring a tremendous 88-run (113) partnership.
Pakistan’s bid to start new year with a test victory at home
The first match had ended in a draw, and not on a positive note for Pakistan, who could not achieve a test victory at home in 2022. New Zealand is playing its first Test series in Pakistan in 20 years.
