RAWALPINDI: Pakistan skipper Babar Azam on Thursday opted to bowl first toss in the first One Day International (ODI) of the five-match series played at the Pindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi.
Batter Haris Sohail would not be part of the Pakistani squad after he suffered an injury during a practice session.
Azam said the pitch will be helpful later in the day for batting while NZ skipper Tom Latham endorsed the Pakistani captain’s decision, saying they would have also bowled first had they won the toss.
“Our morale is high after winning the final T20I.”
