ISLAMABAD: After a 22 paisa depreciation on Thursday the exchange rate of the Pakistani rupee depreciated further by 1 paisa as compared to the US dollar in the interbank trading market on Friday and closed at Rs228.15 as compared to Rs228.14 closed on Thursday.
As reported by the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of dollars in the open market were witnessed at Rs236.25 and Rs238.25 respectively.

The price of the euro recorded an increase of Rs 1.8 and closed at Rs247.24 as compared to Thursday’s closing of Rs245.36, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
The Japanese yen also recorded a gain of 4 paisas to close at Rs1.77, while an increase of Rs1.18 was registered in the exchange rate of the British pound, which changed hands at Rs278.32 as compared to its last closing of Rs277.14.
Meanwhile. the exchange rates of the Emirates dirham and Saudi riyal remained unchanged to close at Rs62.11 and Rs60.74 respectively.
