Pak Rupee weakens against US dollar

ISLAMABAD: The exchange rate of the Pakistani rupee depreciated by 27 paisa on Monday against the US dollar in the interbank trading and recorded at Rs 227.40 as compare to the previous day’s closing of Rs 227.13.

As reported by the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of dollar in the open market were witnessed at Rs 234.40 and Rs 236.75 respectively.

The price of the euro also increased by Rs 3.77 and closed at Rs 242.92 as compare to Rs 239.15 on Friday, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

The Japanese yen recorded an increase of three paisa to close at Rs1.72, whereas an increase of Rs 5.96 was recorded in the exchange rate of the British pound, being traded at Rs 276.32 against to its last closing of Rs 270.36.

Meanwhile, exchange rates of the Emirates dirham and Saudi riyal also increased by 08 paisa and 09 paisa to close at Rs 61.91 and Rs 60.52 respectively.
