ISLAMABAD: The Pakistani rupee witnessed a decline by 34 paisas against the US dollar in the interbank on Tuesday to settle at Rs287.97 against Rs287.63 on Monday.

However, the buying and selling rate of the dollar in the open market continued to hover above the 300 benchmark.
According to the Forex Association of Pakistan, in the open market, the US dollar was available between Rs303 and Rs305.
At the same time, consumers and general public complained that they were unable to get dollar even at the rate of Rs310 in the open market.
Pak Rupee Against Euro, Pound, Riyal and Others
The price of the Euro witnessed an increase of Rs1.25 to settle at Rs 311.18 against the last day’s closing of Rs 309.93, as per reports by the State Bank of Pakistan.
The Japanese Yen was settled at Rs 2.06 with no change, whereas the British Pound recorded a decrease of Rs 0.23 in the exchange rate and traded at Rs 361.83 against Rs 362.06 on Monday.
The exchange rates of the Saudi Riyal and Emirates Dirham appreciated by 10 each to close at Rs 76.78 and Rs 78.40 respectively.
