ISLAMABAD: Andreas Ferrarese, Ambassador of Italy to Pakistan, on Thursday said that the bilateral trade volume between Italy and Pakistan had grown exponentially to 2 euros billion in 2022, and Pakistan’s exports are more than imports in Italy.
He said that although global trade volume fell during the Covid-19 pandemic, Pakistan’s exports to Italy last year grew to 1.2 billion euros. Italian exports to Pakistan were nearly 800 million euros in 2022.
The ambassador said that Pakistan has a surplus in trade with Italy. Italy will try to take the challenge and recover the next year.
Italian ambassador on Pakistani market
He said that Pakistan’s market is vast for Italians as its population is over 220 million. Therefore, the Embassy is inviting Italian companies. Pakistan is an attractive market for Italian businesspeople and manufacturers.
He said the Italian Embassy fully supports companies of both countries in increasing trade and investments.
