Pak-China Friendship Appreciated on the 72nd Anniversary of Diplomatic Ties

ISLAMABAD: The unbreakable friendship between Pakistan and China was celebrated and appreciated on the 72nd anniversary of establishing diplomatic ties between the two nations. Pang Chunxue, Charge d’Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad, highlighted the deep historical roots, practical needs, and strong public support that underpin the bilateral relationship.

The event, titled “China-Pakistan Unbreakable Friendship and the Bright Future,” took place at the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad.

Pang emphasized that under the leadership of President Xi Jinping, China continues to advance its process of modernization, offering new opportunities for developing nations like Pakistan. Both China and Pakistan, as developing nations, are actively exploring development pathways that suit their national conditions while actively contributing to global peace and stability.

The charge d’affaires also highlighted the milestone anniversaries of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The CPEC, launched a decade ago, has achieved significant results in various sectors, including industry, information technology, disaster prevention and mitigation, and agriculture.

It has made substantial contributions to Pakistan’s financial and social development, infrastructure improvement, enhanced welfare for the Pakistani people, and strengthened people-to-people contact and regional connectivity. CPEC has become a remarkable symbol of the close cooperation between China and Pakistan.

Pang praised the recent visit of Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Qin Gang to Pakistan, describing it as of tremendous importance in consolidating and expanding the all-weather strategic cooperation partnership between the two countries. She expressed her appreciation for the efforts and contributions made by successive generations of diplomats from both nations and affirmed China’s commitment to implementing the consensus reached by the leaders of China and Pakistan.

Pakistan appreciates China’s unwavering support

Dr. Asad Majeed Khan, Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary, expressed his commendation for the long-standing friendship and cooperation between Pakistan and China, highlighting the contributions of generations of diplomats from both nations. He noted the significance of the change in the Chinese Embassy’s compound in Pakistan, which now stands as the largest among all Chinese embassies abroad.

Majeed Khan expressed gratitude for China’s unwavering support in matters of independence, sovereignty, economic stability, and infrastructure development in Pakistan. He also acknowledged the prosperity and development brought by CPEC to Pakistan’s economy and society.

Dr. Mazhar Javed, Director General of the Foreign Service Academy, emphasized that the bilateral ties between China and Pakistan have been nurtured over the past 72 years. He highlighted the immense opportunities for exchange and learning between the younger generations of both nations due to the comprehensive cooperation between Pakistan and China. Javed expressed hope that young diplomats would carry on the tradition of friendship and contribute to the further development of China-Pakistan ties.

The celebration of the 72nd anniversary of diplomatic ties between Pakistan and China not only honored the longstanding friendship but also reinforced the commitment to strengthen cooperation in various fields and deepen mutual understanding between the two nations.
