ISLAMABAD: The urban search and rescue team of Pak army has completed its assistance operations in Turkiye after the devastating earthquake that killed more than 43,000 people in Turkiye and Syria.
The team is set to leave for Pakistan on Friday morning after winning hearts and receiving appreciations from the Turkish people due to its tireless rescue operations. The Turkish media is especially lauding the services of Pakistani team.
The 35-member contingent of Pak army was the first team to reach Tuirkiye after the massive quake, and it is the last to leave the country after many successful rescue operations.
Search, rescue oprations
The team searched 91 sites and took part in 39 rescue operations. It rescued eight people including several children. It also recovered 138 dead bodies from from under the rubble.
The rescue team cleared 2 sites for the establishment of shelter homes.
