ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is gearing up for the Pakistan-Africa Trade Development Conference and single-country exhibition scheduled to take place from January 9 to 11 in Cairo, Egypt.

The event, led by Federal Minister for Commerce and Industries, Dr. Gohar Ijaz, aims to strengthen commercial ties between Pakistan and the Middle East & North African (MENA) region.

The high-level business delegation includes government officials and leading businessmen, representing more than 20 diverse sectors, including textiles, engineering goods, food & agriculture, and services. The official segment of the conference on January 9 will be followed by a comprehensive single-country exhibition on January 10 and 11.

Over 200 businessmen from Pakistan, along with 150 representatives from MENA region countries, will explore prospective business deals and joint ventures, fostering trade and investment ties. The exhibition aligns with Pakistan’s “Look Africa” Policy, which seeks to identify alternate markets for goods and enhance government-to-government and business-to-business relationships in the African region.

Similar successful events under this policy were conducted in Johannesburg, Lagos, and Nairobi in 2022, 2021, and 2020, respectively, resulting in significant commercial benefits.
