PESHAWAR: Key Pak-Afghan border crossing at Kharlachi in Kurram district reopened on Tuesday, following it remained closed for around nine days due to clashes near the border area, said local officials.
Police stated that the clashes between rival groups had stopped and peace also restored in the area. Security troops and police personnel have been deployed at key positions, they said. Local media reported that the border closure created immense problems for the locals as food commodities, fuel, medicines, and other items of daily use had gone scant.
