ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Overseas and Human Resource Development Sajid Hussain Turi has said that overseas Pakistanis play a role as the backbone where they left no stone unturned to play their part in boosting the national economy of the country.
According to a press release issued here on Tuesday, the minister said that while addressing a gathering in Greece organized by Pakistan People Party President Greece Chaudhry Shabbir where the ceremony was graced by representatives from other, social, and political organizations and a large number of Pakistani communities.
The minister reaffirmed that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari both were fully committed to resolving the issues of Overseas Pakistanis along with providing standard education opportunities to their children.
He informed the gathering that in the context of his recent meeting with the Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC) an MoU will soon be signed to arrange awarded scholarships for talented children of overseas Pakistanis to get admission to national and international universities. He added that another MoU with the European universities in the field of research, agriculture, and energy sector is in the pipeline
Competing with world market
Sajid Hussain Turi further said that to compete with the world market Pakistan is utilizing its resources and efforts to provide skilled workers to play their part and represent the country in regional and international professional institutions.
He assured the overseas community that his ministry was working hard for their problems and they can contact the ministry if they face any grievances over there and back at home.
Talking about Pakistan’s role in world peace, the minister said that Pakistan had suffered a lot to maintain peace and stability in the world. Earlier President PPP Greece Chaudhry Shabbir thanked the minister for visiting the Pakistani community in Greece. – APP
