MADINAH: Over five million worshipers have offered prayers at Prophet’s Mosque last week, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Friday.
The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Prophet’s Mosque provided services to the Prophet’s Mosque, that attracted 5,410,089 worshippers and visitors in the previous week.
In accordance with the organisational procedures for managing crowds and visiting dates, the authority reported on the total services provided to worshippers and visitors at the Prophet’s Mosque. It said 477,245 visitors greeted the Prophet and his two companions and 230,823 visitors performed prayers at the blessed Rawdah
The authority said that communication services in different languages were utilised by 77,054 visitors from a variety of nationalities.
In addition to the provision of 1,570 tonnes of Zamzam water, the services included disinfection and sterilisation works, totalling 24,176 litres. It was further added that 178 samples were collected for analysis and examination.
Overall, 142,352 iftar meals were distributed in the designated areas of the Prophet’s Mosque for fasting people’s iftar.
