Over 87,000 Children to be Administered Anti-polio Drops: DC Bahawalpur

BAHAWALPUR: A five-day anti-polio drive will start on 13 March in the Bahawalpur district wherein over 87,000 children up to the age of 5 years will be vaccinated.

A meeting to review the arrangements was held, headed by Deputy Commissioner Zaheer Anwar Jappa on Thursday.

He said that polio teams’ members should perform their services properly.

DC said that not a single child should be left unvaccinated during this drive. The training of polio team members must be timely completed.

He said that the team members should also work actively at the bus stops. In this regard, the Regional Transport Authority required to play an active role.

Polio drive in Cholistan

DC directed that children living in remote areas of Cholistan should also be inculcated. He said that the Assistant Commissioners (ACs) of all the district’s tehsils and the relevant health department officials should regularly monitor and supervise the performance of the polio teams during the drive.
