RIYADH: Saudi Youth Scouts have launched their Ramadan service camps at the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah as part of preparations for Ramadan 1447 AH.
The initiative, organized by the Saudi Arabian Scouts Association, brings together more than 750 scouts and leaders to serve throughout the holy month, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Wednesday.
The camps focus on supporting Umrah performers and worshippers by working closely with relevant authorities to deliver essential services at the two holy mosques.
The programme also seeks to engage qualified young volunteers, strengthen the culture of volunteerism, and foster a sense of national pride while showcasing the positive humanitarian role of Saudi youth.
Participants assist the Special Forces for Hajj and Umrah Security and local security patrols in both cities.
They also support the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque by helping organise visitor movement and offering guidance to worshippers.
More than 400 scouts are serving in Makkah, while over 350 are stationed in Madinah, collectively reflecting values of compassion, responsibility, humanitarian service, and national pride during the blessed month.
