RIYADH:  According to the Saudi Ministry of Health, the cochlear implant program performs over 500 surgeries annually, all with a 100% success rate, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Monday.

As per the data, 288 surgeries were conducted in the first half of 2024.  The program continues to deliver essential treatment through health clusters, which have 17 cochlear implant and rehabilitation centers across the county. These centers are designed with advanced rehabilitation facilities and offer comprehensive healthcare services.

The initiative aims to provide treatment for individuals with hearing impairments, enabling them to lead healthy lives.

According to the ministry, cochlear implant and rehabilitation centers linked with health clusters are staffed by highly skilled specialized medical professionals who use state-of-the-art technologies to provide extreme care.

Cochlear implant centers in Saudi Arabia provide an extensive array of healthcare services, including surgical procedures, hearing assessments, programming, rehabilitation, and diagnostics.

Saudi Arabia’s commitment to becoming an international leader in the cochlear implant is evident in its expansion of cochlear implant centers, whose number grew from five in 2018 to 17 currently. This growth is evidence of the nation’s dedication to providing top-tier care for individuals with hearing problems.
