Over 400 Business Leaders Participated in ICCI Conference in Dubai

ISLAMABAD: The Dubai Business Conference, arranged by the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), attracted a significant turnout, with more than 400 attendees, including investors and business leaders from Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, and around the world.

The gathering was aiming to underline the trade and investment potential existing in different sectors of Pakistan’s economy as well as the scope of joint ventures and investment-friendly policies to attract foreign direct investment in the country, said a statement issued by ICCI on Tuesday.

Addressing the conference, UAE’s Secretary of Economic Affairs Abdul Rahman Al Muaini stressed Dubai’s cosmopolitan nature with a population exceeding two hundred nationalities. He attributed Dubai’s attractiveness to its modern business systems, vast trade opportunities and secure investment environment.

He also lauded Pakistan’s potential for investment, especially in sectors like agriculture, and IT and emphasized the need for enhancing bilateral trade and investment cooperation for the mutual benefit of the people of both nations.

ICCI President Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari expressed his gratitude for the event’s organization and underlined the participation of more than 170 Pakistani delegates.

He stressed Pakistan’s commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment and its immense potential for investors.

Bakhtawari specifically mentioned opportunities in real estate, hospitality (shopping malls and five-star hotels), and the IT sector in Pakistan.

Conference to Encourage Emirati Investment in Pakistan

Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE Faisal Niaz Tirmizia appreciated the ICCI’s initiative to bring investment in Pakistan. He expressed confidence that the event would encourage Emirati investment in Pakistan, further strengthening bilateral ties.

The envoy envisioned the conference fostering a new environment for collaboration and mutual benefit.

Group Leader founder group ICCI Khalid Iqbal Malik said that the purpose of this business event was to increase trade and business opportunities between the two nations.
