PESHAWAR: As many as 303,162 Afghan nationals have been returned to their homeland via three border points in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) under the volunteer return and repatriation of unregistered and illegally residing foreigners in Pakistan.
According to statistics from the Home Department, 296,412 Afghans voluntarily returned to their country while 6,750 were deported.

It said that a total of 297,017 Afghan nationals have returned from the Torkham border point, 5446 via Angoor Ada and 689 through Kharlachi points.
It is to be mentioned here that Pakistan has started preparations to launch the second phase of its repatriation drive to send illegal Afghan immigrants back to their home country. The drive is likely to pick the pace after the holy month of Ramazan.
