MADINAH: More than 19 million worshipers have offered prayers at the Quba Mosque in Madinah since the start of 2024, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Tuesday.
The mosque provides a unique spiritual experience supported by a comprehensive service infrastructure that enhances the experience of worshipers.
The Quba Mosque, surrounded by vast courtyards spanning over 14,000 square metres, offers continuous transportation services with six vehicles dedicated to helping older people and people with disabilities.
Eight thousand square metres of new carpets cover the floors of the mosque and courtyard, and its Zamzam water facilities can store up to 98,000 litres. Over 1,500 lighting units enhance the mosque’s visual ambience.
At present, the Quba Mosque is undergoing the largest expansion in its history, part of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud’s project to expand the mosque and develop its surrounding area.
This expansion will increase the capacity of the mosque to approximately 66,000 worshippers, encompassing a total area of 50,000 square metres, which is ten times more than its current size.
