MAKKAH: The Saudi General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has announced that a total of 13,535,258 worshippers visited the Two Holy Mosques during the first week of Rabi’ Al-Thani, from October 10 to 16.
During the same week, the Grand Mosque recorded a total of 4,681,002 worshippers, including 23,994 who prayed at Hijr Ismail (Al-Hatim) and 2,796,561 who performed Umrah, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Friday.
At the Prophet’s Mosque, attendance reached 5,168,764 worshippers, with 340,958 visiting Al-Rawdah Al-Sharifah and 523,979 offering greetings to the Prophet (PBUH) and his two companions.
The General Authority noted that it is employing advanced sensor-based technology at the main entrances of both mosques to accurately track the number of worshippers.
This system is designed to enhance operational efficiency by monitoring crowd flow, enabling authorities and partner organisations to better manage and organize visitors.
