MAKKAH: A total of 122,286,712 worshipers visited the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah during the holy month of Ramadan.
The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque reported 16,558,241 people performed Umrah, while 92,132,169 worshippers visited the Grand Mosque in Makkah, and 30,154,543 worshippers gathered at the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah.
To efficiently manage the large crowds, authorities implemented advanced technology by deploying sensor readers at the main entrances of the Grand Mosque, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported. This system allows real-time monitoring of crowd movement, enhancing operational efficiency and optimising crowd management in coordination with relevant authorities.
The CEO of the General Authority for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, Eng. Ghazi Al-Shahrani extending his heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, expressed his gratitude to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman. He also thanked all those who contributed to serving the guests of Allah, praying that their efforts be rewarded.
