Over 1.4 Million Foreign Pilgrims Arrive Saudi Arabia for Hajj

JEDDAH: The General Directorate of Passports has reported that a staggering 1,342,351 pilgrims have arrived in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for this year’s Hajj pilgrimage. This significant influx of pilgrims has been recorded through various air, land, and sea entry points, with the data encompassing arrivals until the end of Monday.

Of the total number of pilgrims, a majority arrived via airports, with a count of 1,280,240 individuals entering the Kingdom through this mode of transportation. Additionally, 57,463 pilgrims arrived via land ports, while 4,648 pilgrims completed their journey through sea ports.

The arrival of such a substantial number of pilgrims from around the world emphasizes the significance and magnitude of the Hajj pilgrimage, one of the most important annual religious gatherings for Muslims. Pilgrims from different nations have embarked on this sacred journey, following in the footsteps of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as the host country, has implemented comprehensive measures and stringent protocols to ensure the safety and well-being of all pilgrims amidst the ongoing global health challenges.
