ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has advised people to bring their original Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) to cast vote on February 8 (Thursday)

Voters will be provided green-coloured ballot paper for the election of the national assembly and white-coloured ballot for the provincial assembly polls.

According to the ECP, no person would be allowed to cast vote without having original CNIC.

No other document including a copy of CNIC, passport and driving licence would be acceptable for casting vote. The commission further said anyone having an expired CNIC can, however, cast his vote.

Meanwhile, special duties have been assigned to officials for monitoring of electricity supply from February 6 to 9. The authorities said that the monitoring teams have been deployed at the customer services centre across the country to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the elections.

The electricity supply would be ensured from Feb 6 to 9 at polling stations and returning officer offices through the concerned feeders.
