PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy organized a two-day orientation session on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and modern technologies in the justice sector with logistic support of the Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan.
Twenty-four judicial officers from across the province attended the session.
Acting Director General Judicial Academy Muhammad Shoaib underlined the importance of artificial intelligence and modern technologies in access to justice services and increasing efficiency.
He also highlighted important objectives of the session which included developing an understanding of the topic and sensitizing attendees on the potential benefits and risks of employing AI powered tools in the administration of justice.
Mohammad Zeb, Member Inspection Team Peshawar High Court who was the Chief Guest lauded the initiative and expressed hope that the session would contribute to broadening the vision of the attendees on the use of modern technologies and AI in judicial institutions.

Key discourses included “Concept and Understanding of Artificial Intelligence and Ethics”, “Trends of Artificial Intelligence and Technology Across Globe”, AI Adoption in Justice Sector: Prospects and Challenges”, “Pakistan’s Technology Landscape”, “and “ Pakistan’s AI Future.”
In the concluding ceremony, class representative Civil Judge Dr Sheraz Khan appreciated the efforts of the academy for taking the initiative and providing a platform to start discussion on such an important area.
Dr Sheraz Khan recommended that the duration of training on the subject may be increased.
Later, certificates were distributed among participants of the session.
