BEIJING: One person was killed and around 22 were wounded in a gas blast in northern China’s Hebei province, official media reported on Wednesday. According to CCTV, the blast was suspected to have been caused due to a gas leak at a chicken shop in Sanhe just before 8 am.
On the other hand, CGTN reported that rescue operation is underway after the gas explosion. It reported that video clips circulated via social media showed damaged vehicles and thick black plumes rising above the city following a powerful blast rocked a compound by a street. The CGTN reported that the wounded are being shifted to the hospital for medical treatment.
One Dead, 22 Wounded in China Gas Blast
Earlier, media reported that 11 coal mine workers were killed when an explosion occurred inside a coal mine in Yanchuan County, in Shaanxi Province. In December 2020, a carbon monoxide leak had killed 23 miners, while a subsequent blast at a gold mine in Shandong province resulted in the tragic death of 10 miners in January 2021.
