Oman, Uzbekistan Hold Political Discussions

MUSCAT: A session of political discussion was held on Wednesday between Oman and Uzbekistan, Omani state news agency reported.

During the session historic ties and the mutual keenness to continue enhancing bilateral cooperation in economic, diplomatic, cultural and scientific fields.

During the talks, the Omani side was led by Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister, while the Uzbek side was headed by Baxtiyor Saidov, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The two ministers exchanged views on the current situation of the Gaza conflict, notably in relation to the Palestinian cause and the aggressive war imposed by the Israeli occupation government. They also discussed several other regional and global issues of mutual interest.

The two sides also inked an agreement for the visa waiver for holders of diplomatic, service and private passports from the two nations.

Sheikh Humaid Ali Al Maani, Head of the Global Affairs Department at the Foreign Ministry, Abdusalam Khatamov, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Oman and several officials from both sides attended the session.
