MUSCAT, Oman: Oman on Tuesday announced a 17-member squad for their historic debut in the Asia Cup 2025, with experienced batter Jatinder Singh named as captain.
The squad includes four uncapped players, Sufyan Yousuf, Zikriya Islam, Faisal Shah, and Nadeem Khan – all of whom could make their international debuts in the tournament.
Head coach Duleep Mendis shared his excitement, calling it a proud moment for Oman cricket.
“This is a major tournament and a great chance for our players to prove themselves on a big stage,” Mendis said.
“Playing against teams like India and Pakistan is a dream for many cricketers.”
Mendis also said the team has been preparing well through the National T20 tournament and intensive training sessions to build confidence and match fitness.
The Asia Cup 2025, featuring eight teams, will begin on September 9 in the United Arab Emirates. Oman is in Group A alongside India, Pakistan, and UAE.
