Speaking on the occasion, DC Kohat said that global warming, behind the ongoing climate change, has emerged as a major challenge to humanity. He said the earth’s temperature was rising with each passing day.

He added the only way forward to control the current situation was by planting trees as it would save the country from environmental pollution as well as make it clean, green and beautiful.

The ceremony was also attended by a large number of local elders.

Potential of olive farming in Pakistan

Research findings indicate that good quality olives can be cultivated in Pakistan, particularly, in the regions of Potohar Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan where the climate and topography is suitable for their growth.

Olive oil sector is growing internationally and there is an opportunity for Pakistan to export it along with other value-added products to markets with a demand for healthier foods.
