NEW YORK: The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hissein Brahim Taha, held a meeting with Uzra Zeya, the US State Department Under-Secretary for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights, on Thursday.
This significant meeting occurred on the sidelines of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The meeting served as a pivotal step in the ongoing efforts to follow up on the outcomes of the strategic dialogue between the OIC and the United States. It provided a valuable platform for both parties to engage in substantive discussions concerning various regional and international issues of mutual concern.
Distinguished attendees included Ambassador Tariq Ali Bakhit, Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian, Cultural, and Social Affairs, who also serves as the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General to Afghanistan. Furthermore, Ambassador Hameed Ajibaiye Opeloyeru, Permanent Observer of the OIC to the United Nations in New York, contributed his diplomatic expertise to the proceedings.
