JEDDAH, Saudi Arabia: The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has issued a resolute condemnation of the recent actions taken by Israeli occupation forces in the Holy Land.
The OIC expressed its strong disapproval of the storming of the Blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, the forceful assault on worshipers, the arbitrary arrest of several individuals, and the closure of Al-Ibrahimi Mosque in the city of Al-Khalil (Hebron).
The OIC General Secretariat categorically views these actions as a continuation of Israel’s recurrent violations of the sanctity of sacred sites and the fundamental right to worship freely. Furthermore, the organization deems these actions as a blatant breach of the Geneva Conventions and international law.
In no uncertain terms, the OIC holds the Israeli occupation government wholly accountable for the repercussions stemming from these persistent crimes and systematic assaults. It emphasizes that such actions only serve to exacerbate violence, heighten tensions, and contribute to instability in the region.
The OIC calls upon the international community to fulfil its obligations in addressing these grave violations. It underscores the critical importance of safeguarding the historical and legal status of Islamic and Christian holy sites in the occupied city of Al-Quds (Jerusalem).
This resounding condemnation by the OIC highlights its unwavering commitment to upholding the rights and sanctities of all people, especially in regions marked by ongoing conflicts and disputes.
