JEDDAH, Saudi Arabia: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has vehemently condemned the recent Israeli bombing of a UNRWA school in the Gaza Strip, which housed displaced Palestinians.
This brutal attack resulted in the death of over forty Palestinian citizens and injured numerous civilians, predominantly women and children. The OIC denounced this act as a continuation of the genocide against the Palestinian people and a blatant violation of international humanitarian law, the Geneva Convention, relevant United Nations resolutions, and International Court of Justice orders.
In addition, the OIC expressed strong support for the United Nations Secretary-General’s decision to add Israel to the “List of Shame,” which identifies violators of children’s rights in armed conflicts. This move is considered a critical step towards upholding international law and combating the culture of impunity that surrounds Israeli war crimes, with an emphasis on securing justice for Palestinian victims.
The OIC has called upon the international community, especially the UN Security Council, to fulfill its responsibilities and address the ongoing Israeli military aggression against the Palestinian people. It highlighted the urgent need for decisive actions to hold those responsible for war crimes and genocide accountable, ensuring the realization of global justice.
