JEDDAH: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has strongly denounced the opening of Papua New Guinea Embassy in the occupied city of Al-Quds.
The body stressed that this step was unlawful and an open violation of international law and relevant UN resolutions, especially Security Council Resolution No. 478 (1980), which asks states that have established embassies in Al-Quds to withdraw them.
Rights of Palestinian people
The OIC further stated the decision contributed to strengthening the system of illegal colonial occupation and violated the rights of the Palestinian people.
It also called on Papua New Guinea to withdraw from its illegal decision and help support the global community’s efforts to achieve a just and comprehensive agreement based on the Arab Peace Initiative and international resolutions.
