OIC SG, French Ambassador Discuss Ways to Enhance Cooperation

JEDDAH: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Secretary General Hissein Brahim Taha on Wednesday received the ambassador of the French Republic to Saudi Arabia, Ludovic Pouille.

During the meeting, both sides discussed relations between the OIC organization and France. They also discussed ways to enhance further and develop ties to achieve the common interests of both sides.

The two sides held discussions over the current issues of common concern and developments in the international and regional arenas.

OIC Calls for Sufficient Services to PWDs

Earlier, the OIC Secretary General had called on the members of the organization, important OIC institutions, NGOs, and international organizations to work hard to provide good services for PWDs and to make people aware, improve human relations, acceptance and integration of these people.

Taha’s comments are linked with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The day takes place every year on December 21. 3. This day seeks to “promote the rights and interests of persons with disabilities in all areas of society and development.”

This year, the United Nations said, “In line with the central theme of the 2030 Agenda, for Sustainable Development is to ‘leave no one behind, it is critical that governments, the public, and the private sector work together and -finding new ways with people with disabilities to make the world an accessible and equal place.
