ISLAMABAD: Hissein Brahim Taha, Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will visit Pakistan from 10 to 12 December, said the foreign office here on Thursday. The Secretary-General will lead a five-member delegation and will also visit Azad Jammu and Kashmir as part of the schedule.
Hissein Brahim Taha is will visit Pakistan for the first time, since assuming office in November last year, on the invitation of Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. During the visit, the Secretary-General will call on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, followed by a delegation-level meeting with the foreign minister.

He will also meet with other ministers including the Minister of Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan Affairs, the Minister of Commerce, and the Minister of Information Technology and will have a visit to Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
OIC SG to discuss disputes, Islamophoto
According to Foreign Office, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Secretary General and Foreign Minister will discuss bilateral talks, Jammu and Kashmir dispute, Islamophobia, and the vulnerable situation in Afghanistan.

The press release further said that Pakistan as a founding member of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation will keep intact to promote Islamic solidarity, and unity, and continues liaison in the organization.
Pakistan, as Chair of the Council of Foreign Ministers, has operated towards fully activating the OIC peace and security motive to resolve disputes and conflicts.
Promote cooperation between OIC member states
Apart from this, Pakistan has established the OIC Trust Fund to streamline dire humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan along with providing a leadership role to address the repugnant phenomena of Islamophobia and promote cooperation between OIC member states in the field of trade, commerce, food security, science, and technology.
The Secretary General’s visit will enable the exchange of views on how OIC can electrify itself further to deliver on the objectives of 1.9 billion Muslims around the world, that it represents, the press release added.
