OIC Secretary-General, MWL Chief Discuss Prospects of Cooperation

JEDDAH: The head of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hissein Brahim Taha received Deputy Secretary-General of the Muslim World League (MWL) Abdulrahman Al-Zaid on Monday, and discussed important issues and challenges of the Muslim world.

During the meeting, both also discussed prospects of cooperation between MWL and OIC and the outlined in the memorandum of understanding (MoU0 inked between the two parties in 2020, Arab News reported.

OIC chief lauds MWL’s work

OIC said in a statement that the Secretary-General Taha lauded the work of the MWL in the moderate teachings of Islam, and promoting dialogue and understanding among peoples.

The statement added that he also underlined the importance of the Charter of Makkah, which was inked by more than 1200 Muslim scholars in May 2019, and which was adopted by the Council of Foreign Ministers of the OIC.
