JEDDAH: The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hissein Brahim Taha, has congratulated the entire Muslim world and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, as well as all OIC member states’ leaders on concernment of the holy month of Ramadan, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Sunday.
According to the SPA, in the message the Secretary General implored Almighty God to bestow blessings and ensure security for the Muslim world during this holy month, bringing an end to the crises and conflicts affecting various parts of the Islamic world.
He emphasized that Ramadan is not only a time for fasting and prayers but also an opportunity to practice values of goodness, solidarity and compassion. He called for preserving lives and spreading the spirit of peace.
He, furthermore, urges extending a helping hand to the destitute, needy and those enduring harsh conditions in refugee and displacement camps.
