RIYADH: Head of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hissein Brahim Taha has appealed to member nations, the international community and humanitarian organizations to help rescue work in quake-hit Morocco, Arab media reported on Sunday.

As per media reports, over 2,000 people are thought to have passed away, and thousands of others have been injured after a powerful quake rocked Marrakesh.
The OIC Secretary General expressed deep condolences to the families of the killed people and also lauded the quick response of Moroccan King Mohammed VI after the quake in the African country.
Friday’s 6.8-magnitude earthquake, the strongest ever reported in Morocco, has destroyed complete villages in the Atlas Mountains.
