ISLAMABAD: Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Secretary-General Hissein Brahim Taha arrived on a three-day visit on Saturday.
Taha is making his first visit to Pakistan since assuming office in November 2021 at the invitation of Pakistan Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to OIC Rizwan Saeed Sheikh and Organization of Islamic Cooperation Director-General Farrukh Iqbal Khan received the OIC secretary-general at the Islamabad International Airport.

OIC secretary-general’s visit schedule
During the visit, Taha would meet with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
Accompanied by a five-member delegation, Taha will also visit Azad Jammu and Kashmir, the autonomous state governed by Pakistan.
He will also hold meetings with different ministers during the visit.
Foreign Office on visit
The Foreign Office of Pakistan said that during bilateral talks, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation secretary-general and Bilawal Bhutto would discuss various issues, including the core issue of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, Islamophobia and the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan.
Pakistan, a founding member of the OIC, will continue to escalate efforts to promote Islamic solidarity, unity, and negotiations in the member states of Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the FO said in a statement.

OIC Council of Foreign Ministers for Peace and Security
Pakistan, Chair of the Council of Foreign Ministers, has worked towards the complete activation of the OIC peace and security architecture to resolve disputes and conflicts.
Pakistan also promoted efforts to establish the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Trust Fund to extend humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan and provided a leadership role to address the appalling phenomena of Islamophobia. Pakistan also produced work to boost cooperation between Organization of Islamic Cooperation member states in commerce, food, trade, security, science, and technology
