On Wednesday, April 25, 2023, Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, Secretary-General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and Mr. Ahmed Abdul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, spoke on the phone to discuss the latest developments in the situation in Sudan.
Both parties acknowledged the value of coordination during the call as part of regional and global efforts to defuse the crisis.
They emphasised the necessity of adhering to the humanitarian truce in order to enable the delivery of aid, the establishment of an immediate and durable ceasefire, and the restart of a peace process through talks.
