JEDDAH: The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), in collaboration with Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Sport, organized a virtual interactive seminar to celebrate OIC Youth Day, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Thursday.
The Ministry of Sport is currently chairing the 5th Session of the Islamic Conference of Youth and Sports Ministers. The theme of the seminar was “Achieving OIC Goals and Sustainable Development through Strengthening Youth Partnerships.”
Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian, Social, and Cultural Affairs at the OIC, Ambassador Tariq Ali Bakheet delivered a keynote address. He said that the seminar provides a valuable opportunity for participants from member states, OIC bodies and institutions, and partner organizations to discuss ways to boost effective partnerships. He also underscored how such collaborations can contribute to fully achieving the goals of the OIC and sustainable development.
Assistant Deputy Minister for Youth Affairs at the Ministry of Sport and Chairman of the seminar Ahmed Al-Ghamlas also made a speech. He stated that the Youth and Sports Department at the OIC coordinates efforts to explore the possibility of member states and relevant institutions developing an executive program. He noted this initiative would lead to a calendar of activities designed to benefit youth across the Muslim world.
