JEDDAH: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), in collaboration with the Permanent Mission of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, conducted a briefing session at the OIC headquarters in Jeddah on Monday, to discuss preparations for the 18th OIC Trade Fair.
Dr. Ahmad Sengendo, Assistant Secretary General of the OIC, delivered a speech during the briefing session, highlighting that the event was in accordance with the resolutions of the 48th and 49th sessions of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers.
Dr. Sengendo expressed gratitude to the Islamic Center for the Development of Trade (ICDT), the OIC’s Subsidiary Organ and main partner, for their knowledge, expertise, and resources in organizing the upcoming fair in Lahore, scheduled to take place from June 16th to 18th, 2023.
Ambassador Fawed Sher, the Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the OIC, informed participants that all preparations were in place for the successful hosting of the Trade Fair.
He encouraged Member States to actively engage and encourage relevant public and private sector stakeholders to participate in the event.

The ICDT provided a detailed briefing on the arrangements being made to ensure the Trade Fair and Expo’s success. This included information on logistics, exhibitor participation, promotional activities, and opportunities for networking and collaboration among participating countries.
The 18th OIC Trade Fair aims to strengthen economic cooperation and trade ties among OIC member states. The event will provide a platform for businesses, entrepreneurs, and investors to showcase their products, services, and investment opportunities.
