BRUSSELS: The Permanent Observer Mission of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to the European Union (EU) has convened a meeting at the Ambassadorial level Tuesday, in Brussels, to mark the OIC’s 55th anniversary of its establishment, a statement said.
According to the statement, during the meeting, they discussed matters of common interest, including the current Israeli aggression against Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank and Lebanon. They also exchanged views on the alarming surge of Islamophobia in Europe and beyond, and the situation of Muslim communities and minorities in non-OIC Member nations.
The OIC Group has also underlined the significance of coordinating positions and advancing common interests in Brussels, the statement further said.
