JEDDAH: A high-level delegation comprising of the OIC General Secretariat, the OIC Regional Mission in Niger, and the Islamic Solidarity Fund (ISF) will visit the refugee and displacement camps in Burkina Faso from Sunday (today) to Friday to evaluate the real needs of the beneficiaries of the project of empowering females living in camps to initiate the project in coordination with the concerned officials in Burkina Faso.

This comes within the framework of implementing a Resolution about joint action to help and empower displaced and refugee women in Burkina Faso, Jordan, and Sudan. The resolution of the 8th Session of the OIC Ministerial Conference for Women and earlier relevant ministerial resolutions about the joint action to support displaced women had called on the General Secretariat of OIC, the Islamic Solidarity Fund and the relevant OIC departments to support the implementation of the project in Sudan, Jordan, and Burkina Faso.
In a statement, the ISF said that it will contribute to the implementation of the project in three stages. During the field trip, the high-level delegation will also meet with the Minister of Women in Burkina Faso, and with the concerned officials and regional authorities that oversee areas of displacement and refugees in the African country.
