Jeddah: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has strongly denounced the closure of the Ibrahimi Mosque in holy Al-Quds by Israeli forces.
The Secretariat General of OIC in a statement condemned the Israeli act of preventing worshippers from entering the mosque and stopping the Moazin from calling for prayers using a microphone as usual.
The OIC also held the Israeli forces accountable for the repercussions of such offenses against the Palestinian people as well as their repeated violations of the sanctity of the sacred shrines. The organization called on the world community to immediately act to put an end to such acts by Israel which fuel violence, tension and instability in the region.
The Palestinian Ministry of Endowment announced on Thursday that the Israeli occupation authorities had banned Palestinians from entering the Ibrahimi Mosque in the occupied city of Hebron.
The Ibrahimi Mosque
The Ibrahimi Mosque is located in Hebron’s Old City, which falls under the control of Israeli occupation. It is believed to have been built over the tomb of the Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him).
