OIC Convenes Urgent Ministerial Meeting on Wednesday to Discuss Gaza Crisis

JEDDAH: In response to the escalating military situation in Gaza and the threat posed to defenseless Palestinian civilians, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will hold an urgent, extraordinary ministerial-level meeting to discuss the situation.

The meeting has been convened at the invitation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which currently chairs the Islamic Summit and the Executive Committee of the OIC.

OIC Meeting to Gaza Situation and Violence Against Palestinians

The meeting aims to address the intensifying violence in Gaza and its surrounding areas against Palestinian civilians. The meeting will focus on the deteriorating conditions that jeopardize the lives of innocent Palestinian civilians. Additionally, the discussions will center on strategies to ensure the overall security and stability of the region amidst the ongoing conflict.

The Executive Committee of the OIC’s extraordinary meeting is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at the General Secretariat headquarters in Jeddah Governorate.

Representatives from OIC member states will hold crucial discussions aimed at finding diplomatic solutions and offering support to mitigate the impact of the crisis on the affected population.
