JEDDAH: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has strongly condemned the Israeli occupation forces’ killing of three young Palestinians in Nablus. The OIC views this act as a continuation of Israel’s policy of oppression, aggression, and terrorism against the Palestinian people, and a clear violation of international law and humanitarian principles.
In a statement, OIC maintained that the organization holds Israel, as the occupying power, fully responsible for the grave consequences of this heinous crime. It calls on the international community to fulfill its responsibilities by taking necessary actions to bring Israeli war criminals to justice and provide international protection for the Palestinian people.
The incident in Nablus has further escalated tensions in the region and added to the ongoing conflict between Israelis and Palestinians. The OIC’s condemnation underscores the urgency of addressing the plight of the Palestinian people and seeking a peaceful resolution to the longstanding conflict.
Israeli Forces Kill Three Palestinians
Earlier, Israeli troops killed three Palestinians in the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, the Palestinian health ministry reported.
The identities of the deceased Palestinians are yet to be known. According to the Israeli army, the incident took place when three “armed terrorists” opened gunfire on the soldiers from a vehicle in a Nablus neighbourhood. In response to the ‘imminent threat’, the troops took the action.
This unfortunate event is an addition to the escalation of violence that has gripped the occupied West Bank in recent times. The region, which has been under Israeli occupation since the Six-Day War of 1967, has been grappling with a series of attacks and incidents of unrest since early last year.
The latest encounter serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing tensions and complexities that continue to define the situation in the region. Such incidents underscore the challenges faced by both Israeli security forces and Palestinian communities, further deepening the need for a comprehensive and lasting resolution to the long-standing conflict.
