JEDDAH: Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Hissein Brahim Taha has strongly denounced the horrific massacre committed by the Israeli occupation by shelling the Baptist Al-Ahli Hospital in the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the loss of hundreds of martyrs and wounded many innocent people, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Wednesday.

The OIC chief considered this act a war crime that contradicts all basic human values and is also considered organized state terrorism that deserves punishment and accountability, the SPA reported.

He was addressing at the extraordinary meeting of the Executive Committee of the OIC in Jeddah. He expressed complete solidarity with the Palestinians and constant support to their valid fight for receiving their right to self-determination and constituting their sovereign and independent state.
The OIC Secretary General stressed the need for joint efforts to stop Israel’s aggression and to ensure that humanitarian corridors are opened to facilitate access to foodstuff, medicines, and basic needs of the Gaza.

In conclusion, the OIC chief expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Saudi Arabia for convening the extraordinary meeting of the Executive Committee of the OIC. The Secretary General noted that the invitation is an extension of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s firm stance in support of Islamic causes, foremost among which is the Palestinian cause, the SPA reported.
